Castel del Monte: built and commissioned by Frederick II and presumably completed around 1240, particular in its octagonal shape.
Alberobello preserves an historical center made of trulli, buildings erected with dry stone featuring whitewashed walls and a cone-shaped roof built limestone. The top of these particular buildings are o”en decorated with inscriptions of different shapes painted with lime water and depicting zodiacal or religious symbols.
Monte Sant’Angelo the sanctuary of San Michael is an important point of reference for the whole Christian world: it has always been a destination for millions of pilgrims who named it the “door to the sky”.
The basilica is unique in its genre, since it is almost completely built inside the natural cave where the Archangel appeared several times to the Bishop who then decided to found a church there.
